Mechanical  Systems:  This  is  a  very  simple  boat  to  operate.    All  systems  are  straightforward.      -­]Fresh  water  foot  pump  at  galley.      -­]Manual  Raritan  head  replaced  in  1998.    Holding  tank  with  deck  pump  out.    -­]Whale  manual  bilge  pump  in  cockpit  and  Rule  electric  bilge  pump  with  float  switch.      -­]Tiller  steering.  -­]#  20  CQR  bowsprit  mounted  anchor  with  50  of  chain  and  200  of  rode.  -­]Spare    Danforth  anchor  stored  in  stern  lazarette  with  rode.  
Remarks:The  Cape  Dory  28  is  a  remarkably  safe,  sturdy  design  that  can  take  you  anywhere  you  wish  in  the  Chesapeake.    In  many  anchorages  we  have  been  the  smallest  and  probably  least  expensive  boat,    but  that  did did  not  stop  captains  of  much  more  prestigious  yachts  from  giving  us  an  appreciative  nod  as  they  motored  by  and  mouthing    nice  boat.
